A tasty and refreshing dessert, ideally served with ice cream.
Ingredients:
- 1 pot of 2% yogurt
- 4 eggs
- 1 glass of corn oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 1–2 packets of vanilla sugar
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- Zest of one orange
- 1 packet of filo pastry
For the syrup:
- 3 glasses water
- 2 glasses sugar
- Cinnamon stick (optional)
- Peel of one orange
Method:
- Place all the ingredients except the filo sheets in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Cut the filo sheets into quarters, crumple them, and fold them into the mixture.
- Once all the filo is added, pour the mixture into a greased baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for 30–35 minutes at 180–200°C, depending on your oven.
- Boil all the syrup ingredients together and let it thicken slightly.
- When the dessert is baked, score it and pour the cold syrup over it.
A few extra tips:
- You can substitute sunflower oil for the corn oil. If you prefer to use olive oil, which has a stronger flavour, use a smaller amount.
- After boiling the syrup, remove the orange peel so the syrup doesn’t become bitter.
